Notes received via e-mail from Jack Tillmany regarding dating of Selle's "B" roll per movie titles on Theatre Marquees

Beginning of B roll

Hi Andy,

I can help you out a lot on this one. Never on Sunday played first run at the Larkin Theatre (not on Market St.) for 34 weeks, until July 1961, then probably moved directly over to the Esquire for an extended run, its reputation having been established at the Larkin. Meantime Spartacus, visible in one shot in front of the UA, played the UA for 15 weeks until April 1961, so the pix in this group would have to be as early as April 1961 to get Spartacus at UA in, and as late as July 1961 to get Never on Sunday in at the Esquire that time frame. The marquee showing The Wasp Woman and The Spider is the Crest (grind), and there are a couple of the Guild showing The Lonely Man (grind) both of which changed every couple days; I'm sure they advertised in the newspaper, even if the Pix did not, so you have plenty of clues to play with. The Guild was almost next door to the UA, so check the other Guild shots to see what is at the UA if it is visible in the background.

Nice to see Seele move around a little more.
